OUR BELIEFS
St. Luke's St. Louis is a United Methodist Church.
We're part of the Wesleyan tradition, founded in the theology and practices of John Wesley and the hymns of Charles Wesley.
St. Luke's creates ministries that inspire imitation of Jesus Christ and community engagement that partners with God to improve our world.
St. Luke's St. Louis intends to do no harm, do good with God's help, and to grow in love with God through worship, the sacraments of Holy Communion and Holy Baptism, prayer, Bible study, spiritual disciplines, fellowship, and acts of service.
Sacraments
As a United Methodist Church, St. Luke's St. Louis celebrates two sacraments: Holy Baptism and Holy Communion. The sacraments are offered to all who wish to receive God's grace. The first Sunday of every month St. Luke's St. Louis opens the Table of Holy Communion to any and all who wish to receive the sacrament. Holy Baptism is offered to families with infants, and to children and adults who have never been baptized.

Beliefs
As a United Methodist Church, St. Luke's St. Louis believes in the Trinity, one God in three persons. God is the Father and Creator who creates, sustains, and redeems; God is the Son, who is fully divine and fully human, bringing salvation to all; God is the Holy Spirit, who is present in this world.
St. Luke’s St. Louis focuses on John Wesley’s teachings of God’s grace. We discover God’s grace in every aspect of life. God’s grace is prevenient, preparing and prompting next steps in faith. God’s grace is justifying and assuring, transforming and restoring humanity to participate fully in God’s purposes. God’s grace is sancifying, guiding followers of Christ in a life-long process of growing in Christ’s love.
